Colorado Public Radio Names Jenny Gentry COO

Centennial, CO, June 24, 2020 — Colorado Public Radio announced the promotion of Jenny Gentry to Chief Operating Officer. Gentry will have the primary responsibility of directing and supporting the operational aspects of the CPR organization. She most recently served as Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration. Most notably, during her 36-year tenure with CPR, Gentry’s been instrumental in transforming the organization from a single-signal radio station to the statewide network that exists today.

“Jenny has provided CPR with leadership continuity through every phase of growth and change” said CPR President Stewart Vanderwilt. “Whether this was helping KCFR establish itself as an independent licensee, or qualifying the organization (and other public broadcasters) for tax-exempt bonds and creating Colorado Public Radio, she has a powerful combination of mission focus and business acumen to be one of top leaders in public media.”

In 2017, Gentry was one of Colorado’s top ten financial executives, according to the Denver Business Journal.

As a native of Denver, Jenny considers it an honor and privilege to work for an organization that is so important to the fabric of our communities. With a degree in business and a family background in the arts – her mother taught music and her brother studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music – it is a dream job to blend the two.

“I truly enjoy finding ways to increase our impact and service, and working with our amazing leadership team to accomplish that,” said Gentry. “I’m excited to continue moving CPR forward!”

Beyond her roles at CPR, Gentry has volunteered for the past 15 years with Project Angel Heart, a nonprofit that delivers meals to those living with long term illness. She also houses and fosters rescue dogs, particularly those with behavioral issues.
