The FCC has released its Notice of Proposed Rule Making in the Radio Online Public File proceeding, which can be found at the link below.
The main takeaways with regard to radio are that the FCC is proposing to initially apply the requirement only to commercial radio stations in the top 50 markets that have five or more full time employees, and then phasing it in for other radio stations in two years, and at least for the moment, exempting NCE stations and those with less than five full time employees.
The FCC is seeking comments on whether these should be temporary or permanent exemptions, as well as whether the FCC needs to expand its filing windows or otherwise alter its filing deadlines to minimize overloads on its filing systems.
