The Digital Content Producer is responsible for posting breaking news and day-to-day content to the station’s website as well as social media platforms. The ideal candidate will have a winning attitude with a strong sense of urgency required for creating engaging content for digital platforms. Strong writing and storytelling skills are essential elements of this multifaceted position. This position requires a self-starter who can work independently and with a team. This individual will work directly with anchors, reporters, photographers and producers, while reporting to the Digital Content Director and the news management team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all station digital platforms.
- Write, edit and create news content for digital platforms.
- Be aggressive in breaking news and weather to turn around digital content quickly.
- Post videos to digital platforms.
- Seek out live stream opportunities.
- Communicate regularly with news staff to ensure digital platforms are up to date and consistent with broadcast coverage.
- Hold news staff accountable to digital deadlines and initiatives.
- Provide feedback and make changes to digital news content written by newsroom staff.
- Must have an interest and ability to use digital metrics to measure success.
- Confirm information from official sources.
- Assist in executing some sales initiatives
- Coordinate platform improvements and site changes and work with corporate digital platform managers.
Required Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree, preferably in Journalism or Communications.
- Prior newsroom experience writing content.
- Strong writing and grammar skills.
- Sound news judgment, journalistic integrity and an understanding of audience needs and expectations.
- Prior experience creating content for social media platforms.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, video and editing Skills
- Must have urgency and can-do, winning attitude.

Annual Salary Range:
$40,000 to $43,000; based on experience. Non-Exempt.
